Murphy’s Bluff Residents

Ben Bell
A man of simple tastes. He tries not to stress about things outside of his control. Give him a peaceful life with his dad, his daughter Hannah and Border Collie Spud and he is happy. He does worry about his dad being drawn to the drink and prefers the town stay out of his business, although he is always happy to lend a hand to those in need. He wouldn’t want to live anywhere but the town.

Raymond Bell
He may not have been the father Ben has deserved since his wife’s death, although he’s always tried to do right by his boy. He loves his granddaughter and wants his family happy. He is not the frail old man people seem to see him as. His wits have not left him yet. He tries to let his son live his own life but when it comes to women, wishes he could shake some sense into the boy.

Hannah Bell
A toddler who loves to test the boundaries. She loves nothing more than to spend time playing with Spud, her doggy. She also enjoys story time with Daddy (Ben) or Grandpa (Ray). Although she likes helping on the family’s small farm, she is not a fan of the broccoli or pumpkin that her daddy tries to make her eat.

Jean Jackson
Jean is a straightforward woman and prides herself on being so. It isn’t easy being the wife of the local copper. Especially when he isn’t a local. She takes people at face value and has a cheeky temperament. Very loyal and loves being a part of the town.

Darius Jackson
Darius is a newcomer to the town. After all, he’s only lived in Murphy’s Bluff for around 12 years. He loves the quiet life in the small town. He finds his job as a police officer fulfilling although knows it somewhat isolates him from the rest of the town. He worries that Jean, his wife, isn’t happy.

Ellie Rivers
A lifelong resident of the town. She has never married and her beloved Corgi Daisy is her pride and joy. She loves baking and gardening and may have the occasional nip of alcohol. She has no time for busy bodies and wishes the old sod next door would stop being so irritating and horrible towards her.

Jack Flynn
Jack does not want any nonsense in life and doesn’t understand why people must act so foolishly. Pick a path and stick with, that’s his motto. He enjoys watching the cricket with his Corgi, Prince. Jack also enjoys gardening, and not only because it allows him to keep an eye on his rather foolish next-door neighbour, Ellie.

Doris MorrisPublican
Named for the Greek Goddess of the sea, she believes she brings abundance to the town she loves. Her late fathers pub is kept ship shape along with her husband Bob. Naturally talkative, she does not believe in gossip. With her tea towel at the ready and Lulabelle the cat as her second pair of eyes, not much escapes her notice.

Bob MorrisPublican
Bob enjoys life in the pub with his wife Doris, although he does sometimes feel life has slipped him by. Doris seems to have a firm grip on what she wants whereas he has just gone with the flow. The annual pool tournament is a night where he really shines. He’s in his element. He just isn’t sure where he stands the rest of the time.

Lucy Winters
A woman who knows what she wants and that she is too good to be stuck in a small town like Murphy’s Bluff. She loves nice things and attention from men. Women hate her because they are jealous that she is simply more beautiful. But what do they expect after running after kids or doing menial tasks like housewives?

Nigel ThickettRealtor
The Real Estate Agent of Murphy’s Bluff and able to get you a good deal on a property. Although the town isn’t large, he sees sales potential. Whilst he may be constrained by the owners of the properties, he is always on the lookout for a good deal. After all, Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Malcolm
An unassuming old man who likes the quiet life and keeping to himself. Some may call him a hermit – they probably call him much worse things, although he doesn’t care. He doesn’t need much to be happy. He likes his simple life near the water and loves the town he has always called home.

Betty & KidsLocals
Husband John works away so it is generally her and the kids. Kids, Bridie the toddler, Cody and Dylan the mischievous 6-year-old twins and Noah who is 8. Betty has her hands full and prays that they don’t add to the brood although loves her life, even though she finds it exhausting.

Paulie, Grant and RussellPub Regulars
Paulie, Grant, Russell. They may not be the brightest bunch but are generally harmless, although a bit clueless when it comes to things like women. Give them a pint and rack up the pool and they are generally well behaved.
